A left leaning nationalist party advocating secession from the United Kingdom. Site provides an on-line manifesto, news section and details of the party and its personalities. Currently the second largest party in Scotland.
The party elected Tommy Sheridan to the Scottish Parliament in 1999. The SSP is a united front of members of the former Scottish Militant Labour and other left forces.
